YOUTH Programs

By sharing the ocean we enter a space of interconnectedness. Through this experience and awareness, we aim to bridge the socio-economic gap in the surfing community by providing accessibility and creating an inclusive space for personal exploration and expression. In doing so individuals nurture confidence, community, and cultivate a lifelong passion for ocean stewardship.

Recreation +Education +Mentorship

We grant 30 students between the ages of 6 and 12 a no-cost 2 year scholarship that includes a combination of Surf Therapy, Eco-Field Trips, and Mentorship programing.

Surf Therapy

Surf Therapy is a subset of Eco-Therapy. These sessions occur during our Summer Season. We introduce our students to the ocean through monthly group surfing days.

We focus on ocean safety, surfing ettiquite and techniques, marine science education, and personal well being.

Here, family members join too! We want parents and guardians to see the value of their children in continuing their relationship to the ocean. We teach our families, safety measures, and equipment preparation so participants are self sufficient and can continue learning outside of our program.

Mentorship

Our Mentorship occurs during the Winter Season. Here is where we witness the relationship from surf instructor and kid grow and solidify into Familia as they both actively participate in diving deep and building bonds in-and-out of the water.

Throughout the program we strive to have a lasting positive impact on our students life by celebrating their uniqueness and following their passions.

Whether it be a beach walk, checking out tide pools, hanging on the beach, picking up trash, playing a sport - all these intentional activities contribute to creating lifelong relationships, improving our students confidence and self-esteem, and forging the next generation of ocean stewards.
